Heavens no! I'm chess-stupid, I'd be broke if I played for money!  But my best friend in high school was in chess club and I know there was a lot of betting going on under the nose of the supervisor!

| We used to play chess for snacks. Being geeks we rarely got anything good in our lunches other than flavored rice cakes. If someone got a cupcake or fruit snacks we normally played for it.

| I can say that I have never done this, but it would make the game more interesting. I wonder though if some of the ones that bluff before they close the game would make anything good for it, or if the money involved would throw them off course.

| I haven't done this yet because I am not good enough in playing chess. But I have a friend who did it already. And she graduated from college playing chess for their school.
