I have always enjoyed watching the races, but I have never really sat down and went to one. Is it as good as so many others portray on TV?

I guess that would depend on how "into" such things you get. I have friends who own trotting horses so I get to go back into the barns and such. Its rather fun to visit with the horses and jockeys and then go and place a bet and watch them race. Actual races without carts are more exciting as they are faster and have less opportunities.

You are lucky to be able to get back stage into the stables. I wanted to be a jockey when I was younger but I ended up being too tall.
