We went to Vegas about 6 years ago and were having a great time. Someone come up and asked us if we wanted to look at a condo for tickets to a show. We figured why not as we weren't planning on getting show tickets. What a mistake. Next thing I know I'm in a room with other schmucks signing my life away. It was all so fast and so slick that I remember few of the details.
Has this happened to anyone else?

| Nope. Ever since I was growing up in the eighties people have made jokes about time share "presentations" in return for a ski weekend or tickets to a show at the casino. If I wanted a timeshare they'd know it. I don't though. I mean look at all the timeshare re-selling companies.

| Well you know, I've been to more than a few presentations. I go, have a nice meal, mingle, make some friends even, take the tickets and have a nice show. No one can force you to buy what they are selling.

Exactly. You just have to go in there knowing what to expect. People get blind sided, and they feel like they have to buy something. Hey, don't feel bad: the are the ones who offered the tickets in the first place...

This definitely falls under there is no such thing as a free lunch. Several times they have tried to lure me in and each time I said no thank you and kept walking. The one time where the person was persistent I asked them if the show included comps to a first class room, unlimited gambling, etc. For some reason this time they walked away!

| M friend uses these presentations as an opportunity to gve a nice weekend getaway for himslf and family. He has even invited me to go with them one weekend, but I haven't made it yet. Yes, a trap it is - but you shouldn't let it catch you if you know beforehand.

| I guess I'm naturally suspicious and haven't walking into anything like that. I will also hold my ground on the sales pitch. I don't put my money up without planning first.

| I love those types of things. I get a free meal, or a CD player, or something else of equal value, and I only have to say no a few times. It doesn't just happen in casinos though. They're everywhere.
