I'm not sure where you can legally play this anymore, but I recall playing alot as a kid and the adults betting on the games alot. I'm not sure if they bet on the outcome of the game or who would get hurt first though, lol.

I remember lawn darts from when I was a little kid. Definitely a parental supervision game. Almost as dangerous as javelin catching. Maybe that's why you don't see it much anymore. I wouldn't guess that it would be illegal though.

Who would try to catch a javelin?

I have never played this game before though I have heard of it. Can someone give me some pointers and maybe a quick run down of it?

This is so much fun and basically is is a lawn game for two players or teams. A lawn dart set usually includes four large darts and two targets. The game play and objective are similar to both horseshoes and darts combined. They are typically 12 inches long with a weighted metal or plastic tip on one end and three plastic fins on a rod at the other end. The darts are intended to be tossed underhand toward a horizontal ground target, where the weighted end hits first and sticks into the ground. The target is typically a plastic ring, and landing anywhere within the ring scores a point.

Loads of fun
