With auto plants closing and 500 year floods, we are all feeling the pinch, with a bit of panic, from unrelenting disasters and increasing oil and power costs.

Do you think all of these factors will combine to finally shut down some of the marginal casinos in Michigan, Atlantic City, and other venues in the midwest and along the eastern seaboard?

If it is well established they should be ok, but for any business this is going to be a problem and gambling will be no differant. I know if I have to spend all that money just getting to the casino, I want go.

Michigan's casinos aren't "marginal." They're doing fairly well, actually, and in a hurting city they're a much needed tourist destination. All three have recently finished, or are nearly finished with, new buildings, too. They won't close.

I don't think that it is going to make a difference in shutting down any of the casinos.

The casions around here are all tribal, so it won't effect any in my area.
