| She is still doing her job so why should she not be tipped? It was not her choice to tell you the drinks are on the house someone else did.

| Tipping is not a common practice here in the UK, although that doesn't stop me from giving the waitress or waiter a tip, especially if they are especially nice or I am in a great mood. It is a way to say a simple 'thank you' and leaves me feeling good about it.
