We have a lot of Texas Hold 'Em tournaments around here that act as fundraisers for organizations such as the fire departments. Does your community host these events as well? Do you attend?

I've seen a lot of these promoted the past couple of years in my area. Alas, I have yet to learn how to play Texas Hold'em so have never dared to enter. They are always packed out so it's evidently a very popular way to raise money in this area.

I went to one once, with a friend. I can't remember now who it was benefiting, may have been the fire department. It wasn't just poker, it was all different tables set up, like a mini casino. It was a lot of fun, and I bet a really great way to raise money.
