| Does it ever happen that a tournament goes on for too long? That one or more of the participants has to leave the tournament for some reason? Do they forfeit winnings to that point if they leave?

| I've had tournaments with friends go on too long and forfeited. I'm sure they have rules built into professional tournaments to deal with such things. Maybe a cap on the length and a way to split the pot based on chip totals?
