Police appeal for witnesses after William Hill robbery

Police are calling for witnesses after a William Hill betting shop on Ridley Place in Newcastle city centre was robbed last night. The incident which took place at 8.45pm saw a single male wield a small knife before making his getaway with a small amount of cash.
 
Acting Det Insp Paul Makepeace said of the robbery: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed someone hanging around William Hill before the robbery.

"The bookmakers is in the centre of Newcastle and there would have been plenty of people around at this time of night who might have important information."
