Paddy Power offer odds on Ian Poulter maiden Major win

By Ben Moss

Having lost the Abu Dhabi Golf Championships by one stroke to Germany’s Martin Kaymar, Paddy Power believe this could be the year Ian Poulter breaks his Major duck.

An excellent start to 2010 has seen his odds drop to 11/1 to win his maiden Major, and they believe it could be The Open. Poulter is 33/1 to win that particular major and that would represent a good bet given the player’s excellent form and notoriously tidy links golf.

A spokesman for Paddy Power said: “Poulter came close in the 2008 Open so knows he can be in the mix at the big tournaments.”

“Following a good start to 2010 this could be the year he wins his first major.”
