Video game giant enters Poker fray

By Andrew Allen

Multi-national game company SEGA is to launch an online poker website as it looks to diversify its portfolio. With the industry booming the company, which was founded in Hawaii in 1940, will run both segapoker.com and segacasino.com in an attempt to cash in on the popularity of domestic gaming.

The company, which is arguably best known for characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, has remained profitable in the last decade and could act as a trailblazer with other giants such as Nintendo tipped to also enter the online gambling world.
