Bookies open book on Apple iPad sales
The launch of the new Apple iPad yesterday has seemingly got the Bookies all excited after Paddy Power offered odds on their 2010 global sales.
The new brain child of Steve Jobs is available in America with a starting price of $499, but savvy gamblers could potentially win their money back by placing bets on how many units Apple will sell of their newest product labelled a “revolutionary product”.
Paddy Power claim the iPad is likely to shift at least 2 million units and has offered 11/4 on sales between 2 million and 3 million. Ambitious punters can take odds of 5/2 on sales of 3 million to 4 million.
A statement from Paddy Power read: “With its promise of seamless browsing, e-mail, photos, video, music, games and e-books Paddy Power are offering short odds of 11/4 that the iPad will rewrite the history books and sell between 2 million and 3 million units in 2010, making it the fastest selling device of its kind in history,”
