Superman Bookie’s clerk foils robber

A Bookie’s clerk at a betting shop in Swansea saved the day, when he foiled a robbery attempt with a chair.
 
The assailant approached the front desk of the Corals Bookmakers in Swansea with a large kitchen knife, demanding cash. When his demands were refused, the man tried to climb through the open hatch to the back office, only to be halted by one of the employees pushing a chair in his face to stop him.
 
The suspect, described as being white and 5ft 6in of slim to medium build, then left the premises empty handed.
 
Detective Constable Simon Davies said: “Although High Street was quiet at this time of night I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of High Street or the city centre and saw this man or has information as to his identity to come forward.”
