Can Federer achieve 2010 Grand Slam?

By Timothy Hamilton

Swiss ace 12/1 to follow up Aussie Open win with victory in all three remaining majors

After he lifted the first major trophy of 2010 against Andy Murray, Boylesports offer 12/1 that Federer will this year become the first player since Rod Laver in 1969 to achieve the Grand Slam.
He is 6/5 to win one more major title this year and 4/1 to win another two.

The Irish bookies were hit hard as pre-tournament favourite Federer romped to a three-set victory over Andy Murray on Sunday morning.

Murray is 6/4 to win one of the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open this year and 100/1 to win all three. The pair are 3/1 to again meet in the final of the Australian Open next year.

“As we do before most tournaments now, we saw a large number of bets on Federer and his win cost us a fair sum,” says Nicola McGeady, Boylesports Spokesperson. “But you can’t deny that he deserved it with a flawless display against Murray and we wouldn’t be too surprised to see him win all four of the Grand Slam tournaments this year.”
