Clooney promises lottery win to Haiti victims

Hollywood superstar George Clooney has snapped up hundreds of tickets for the Italian lotto draw this week after the estimated top prize fund reached £117 million.
 
The actor, best known for his roles in ER, Ocean’s Eleven and current box office hit Up in the Air, has promised that if he wins the huge sum he will donate it all to victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
 
Clooney currently resides in the picturesque Lake Como region of Italy with his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis. It is thought that the stunning model has also persuaded several of her friends to join Clooney in the lotto syndicate.

Quoted by British tabloid The Daily Star, Clooney is thought to have said: “The jackpot is so high so why not try?"
