Self-styled ‘King of Chavs’ blows all of his £10m lotto fortune
A former binman who won £9.7 million in the lottery in 2002 has blown the lot and is now on the dole.
Michael Carroll, the self-styled ‘King of Chavs’ has whittled away all of his winnings in a splurge that included a mansion called the Grange, where he held regular banger races in the garden, complete with a fishing lake.
According to the Mail on Sunday, a few months after winning the lottery in the summer of 2002, Carroll’s wife left him and he found himself spending thousands of pounds on a crack cocaine habit and wild parties.
Carroll was jailed in 2004 for affray and has made a strong of court appearances since his lottery win, and last night the man responsible for his autobiography ‘Be Careful what you wish for’ confirmed the money had all gone.
Sean Boru is quoted by EPD24: “The money is all gone. He's going to be putting The Grange on the market; he's made things up with his ex-wife and he's going to be selling the property and putting the money into a business.”
