Rafael Nadal admits he expects to lose his ranking as world number two after seeing Novak Djokovic clinch yet another title in Rome last week. The Serb ace, who also won last year's Australian Open, is set to overtake Nadal after adding the Rome Masters to his triumph at Indian Wells.

Murray breezes through in Hamburg
Andy Murray was back to his best breezing past Dmitry Tursunov 6-4, 6-1 in the first round of the Hamburg Masters. The British number one took only until the third game to break the Russian's serve, and although he missed another break opportunity at 5-4, he served out the first set with little fuss.

Ivanisevic backs countryman Ancic for Wimbledon joy
Goran Ivanisevic has backed Mario Ancic to be the biggest challenger to Roger Federer at this year's Wimbledon tournament. Ancic reached the semi-finals in 2004, but has recently been suffering with glandular fever.

World number three Novak Djokovic was forced to come from a set down against Stanislas Wawrinka to claim the Rome Masters. The 20-year-old struggled in the opening exchanges and was broken by the promising Swiss starlet in the fifth game.

Djokovic into Rome final as Stepanek retires
Novak Djokovic will start as favourite for the Rome Masters title after his semi-final opponent Radek Stepanek retired during the last four clash. The Czech, who was trailing 6-0 1-0,was given treatment at the end of the first set and eventually withdrew just one game later.

Dementieva sets up all Russian final
Elena Dementieva expressed her joy at setting up an all-Russian final at the German Open after beating Ana Ivanovic 6-2 7-5 in the semi-finals. Dementieva, who will now face her compatriot Dinara Safina, broke the world number two five times on her way to a deserved victory.

Safina loving life at the top
Dinara Safina says she has enjoyed 'one of her best weeks ever' after claiming her place in the final of the German Open. Safina, who has already seen off both Justine Henin and Serena Williams, breezed past the challenge of Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 6-4 6-1 in a one-sided semi-final.

Roddick forced to retire in semi-final
Andy Roddick suffered injury heartbreak in the semi-finals of the Rome Masters after a back problem forced him to retire. The American, who was trailing Swiss ace Stanislas Wawrinka 3-0 in the opening set, pulled up with a problem just seconds after being passed by his opponent's forehand winner.

Federer crashes out of Rome Masters
World number one Roger Federer bowed out of the Rome Masters as he suffered a surprise quarter-final defeat at the hands of Radek Stepanek.
Federer lost 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (9-7, his sixth defeat of an inconsistent season.
With the French Open two weeks away, the defeat is a blow to Federer's hopes of claiming the only Grand Slam title to elude him.

Federer ousts Karlovic to set up Stepanek clash
Roger Federer was made to work hard by Ivo Karlovic as the world number one advanced to the last eight of the Rome Masters where he will meet Radek Stepanek. The Swiss ace won the first set in a tie break and gained an early break at 2-2 in the second and broke again in the final game to seal his sixth victory in as many victories over Karlovic.
