Tancock eyes Beijing glory
Britain's Liam Tancock insists he will not be travelling to Beijing to make up the numbers this summer and says he is ready to compete with the world's best in the swimming pool. The 22-year-old Loughborough student will be hoping to win gold in the 100m backstroke as well as the 200m individual medley.

Swim suit released in time for Beijing
A new space-age swimming suit, which is expected to be used by most athletes at the Beijing Olympics in the summer, was launched by Speedo on Tuesday. To celebrate their 80th anniversary the Australian company unveiled their LZR RACER suit, claiming that it is the 'world's fastest swimsuit'.

Thorpedo's doping charges cleared
Ian Thorpe, the Australian swimming sensation, has been cleared of doping while in competition by the FINA who deemed there was no case to answer, executive director Cornel Marculescu announced last night. Thorpe, 25, won five Olympic gold medals, as well as 11 golds in the World Championship, but left the pool for good last year.
