O'Sullivan to face Hendry in Crucible semi-finals

O'Sullivan hits maximum to see off Williams
Ronnie O'Sullivan hit a superb 147 as he beat Mark Williams 13-7 to reach the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible in Sheffield. It was the ninth maximum of the two-time World Champions career, which beats the record of eight that he shared with Stephen Hendry.

Davis' fightback in vain in Sheffield
Six-time winner Steve Davis produced a brave fightback but it was not enough as he crashed out of the World Championships after a 10-8 first-round defeat to Stuart Bingham at the Crucible in Sheffield. Davis had been 8-3 down but fought back to level before fading away at the last.

Stephen Hendry produced a stunning comeback to see off the valiant challenge of qualifier Mark Allen 10-9 in a pulsating first-round tie at The Crucible. The seven time champion, who trailed 6-3, bounced back to level at 6-6 before going on to win the match.
