David Coulthard says Fernando Alonso would be the perfect man to succeed him at Red Bull next season - but admits luring the double world champion to the team's paddock may prove difficult. Coulthard, who will retire at the end of the season after 15 years in Formula One, believes the Spaniard would prove a huge success at Red Bull.

Webber talks down chances
Mark Webber has played down his chances of winning his home Grand Prix in Melbourne despite enjoying plenty of encouragement in Friday's practice sessions. The Red Bull driver recorded the second fastest time in the afternoon session to the delight of the home crowd but insists fans should not take too much notice of the latest results.

Coulthard hails Red Bull improvement
David Coulthard has hailed the improvement of his Red Bull car and says the team have made major improvements ahead of the 2008 season. Both Coulthard and team-mate Mark Webber expect Red Bull to become more competitive although neither driver is expecting to challenge the likes of McLaren or Ferrari just yet.

Coulthard returns to action
David Coulthard has returned to action in his Red Bull for the final day of pre-season testing after recovering from a neck injury.The Briton was forced to pull out of the second day of testing in Barcelona after hurting his neck and was told to rest in order not aggravate the injury ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

Webber worried over lack of traction control
Mark Webber admits Formula One drivers will face a difficult task to cope withouth traction control in the wet weather this season.The new laws have banned traction control and driving aids in 2008 and the Australian says he is expecting a real examination of his motoring skills in the year ahead.

David Coulthard has urged his Red Bull side to move forward and challenge for the constructors' championship in 2008.The Scot, who is entering his 14th season of Formula One, helped Red Bull finish fifth last season and has now set his sights on further success during the upcoming campaign.

Webber happy with Red Bull choice
Mark Webber has insisted he was happy with his decision to join Williams last season, despite the Australian only gaining 10 points in a poor campaign last time around. Webber was at Williams for two years under Frank Williams and Patrick Head but, despite having a less reliable car, he has no regrets about his switch.

Webber pleads for Albert Park reprieve
Mark Webber, Formula One's solitary Australian driver, has pleaded for his home grand prix to remain at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. The contract to stage the event expires in 2010 and the support by the Victorian state government appears to waning due to escalating licence fees.

Coulthard to pay tribute to McRae
David Coulthard will pay tribute to his friend and countryman Colin McRae at this weekend's Japanese F1 Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver will wear a helmet painted in the colours as worn by the late world rally champion, who was killed in a helicopter crash earlier this month.
