Montgomerie inspired to victory by the Ryder Cup
Colin Montgomerie has gone through to the third round of the WGC Match Play championship in Toucan after being inspired by the spirit of the Ryder Cup. The Scot has been struggling so far this season but defeated Charles Howell with a stunning comeback on the back nine to win by a stroke.

Montgomerie moves on to third round at expense of Howell
Colin Montgomerie advanced to the third round of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship beating American Charles Howell III. After knocking out Jim Furyk the previous day the Scot defeated Howell by one hole but had to dig deep to secure his victory.
