De Guzman called up to Dutch under-21 squad
Jonathan de Guzman has been called up to the Dutch Under 21 side for Wednesday's European Championship qualifier against Estonia. The Canadian born Feyenoord midfielder only recently acquired Dutch nationality and will be making his debut in international competition.

Pearce: We've put pride back into England
Stuart Pearce insists his England Under-21 side have put the pride back into wearing the Three Lions jersey. Pearce, who won 78 England caps as a player, saw David Bentley and Gabriel Agbonlahor pull out of his squad for the European Under-21 Championship finals last summer.

Pearce's men make their point
Adam Johnson fired home a second-half equaliser to help the England under-21 side to a 1-1 draw against Portugal in their crucial Euro 2009 qualifier in Agueda.
The Middlesbrough winger, who spent the early part of the season on-loan at Watford, smashed home from close range to hand Stuart Pearce's men a well deserved point.

England goalscorers Mark Noble and James Milner paid tribute to their team-mates after the Republic of Ireland were beaten 3-0 in their European Under-21 qualifier in Cork. Two goals from Noble and one from Milner put England three ahead before the game was half an hour old, but both midfielders insisted victory was a team effort.

England U21s beat Montenegro
England Under 21s moved to the top of Group Three after beating Montenegro 1-0 at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester. Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute. The win is Stuart Pearce's side's third in succession during their qualifying campaign for the European Under 21 Championship in 2009.
