No luck for the Irish in Las Palmas
Northern Ireland failed to qualify for next summer's Euro 2008 from Group F after losing to table-toppers Spain at Estadio Gran Canaria in Las Palmas. Nigel Worthington's side nicked a late winner against Denmark at the weekend, creating a slim chance that they would qualify: they had to beat Spain and hope that Sweden lost to Latvia.

McCartney could make Northern Ireland return
