Brit Pooley takes silver in women's time trial
Great Britain's Emma Pooley has taken the silver medal in the women's time trial, finishing just behind American winner Kristin Armstrong. It was a superb ride by Pooley, who went round the course in a time of 35 minutes 16.01 seconds to lay down the gauntlet to the rest of the field.

Olympic hopeful Cavendish wins fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia
Britain's Mark Cavendish won the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia in a sprint finish in Catanzaro. Cavendish finished the 183km stage in four hours, 49 minutes and nine seconds to secure his first-ever Giro win.
