Luton hit by massive 30 point penalty
Luton Town will begin life in League Two with a 30 point deduction after being handed a hefty penalty by the Football League. The Hatters, who were already set to start the new season with a ten-point penalty after breaching Football Association regulations over agents fees, have now been punished after applying to come out of administration.

Luton Town's future in the Football League looks to have been secured after a takeover led by TV presenter Nick Owen was agreed with the club's administrators.Luton, who are currently in administration, sit firmly ensconced in the League one relegation zone after being hit with a ten-point penalty.

Luton sack Blackwell
Luton Town manager Kevin Blackwell has been sacked by the club - despite him having already handed in his resignation last Friday. Blackwell, who took charge of the League One club for the final time last night during the 5-0 FA Cup defeat by Liverpool,had planned to leave Kenilworth Road after the game against Bournemouth on February 9.

Blackwell left in the dark
Luton Town manager Kevin Blackwell has denounced his own club revealing he didn't even know an emergency rescue package for the club was in the pipeline. As his team prepared to face Liverpool in the FA Cup Third Round replay, the ink was drying on a £10m consortium bid fronted by television presenter Nick Owen to buy the troubled league club.

Cahill helps Toffees out of sticky situation
Everton scraped through to the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup after needing extra-time to record a 1-0 win over League One Luton at Kenilworth Road. Tim Cahill's goal in the 101st minute was enough to give David Moyes' side victory - but Luton's Matthew Spring came within inches of finding a late equaliser.
