Rangers drawn with Santa Coloma or Kaunas in Champions League qualifying
After missing out on the UEFA Cup final last season, finalists Glasgow Rangers will play either Santa Coloma of Andorra or Lithuanian club Kaunas in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The draw was made on Tuesday morning in Nyon.

Half of the 2008/09 Champions League field now known
After Celtic's victory in the race for the Scottish Premier League title, exactly half of the 32 teams who will compete for next season's Champions League are now known. There will be at least two debutants looking to take Manchester United's crown from them: Romanian champions CFR Ecomax Cluj and Russia's UEFA Cup winners, Zenit St Petersburg.

Ferguson: Ronaldo is staying - but maybe for only two more years
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has dispelled rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo is set for a summer move to Real Madrid - but admits the Portuguese may leave Old Trafford in two years' time. Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has admitted he refused to take one of the first five penalty kicks in the Champion s League Final shoot-out and has slammed Avram Grant's decision to use him primarily as a winger since his January move from Bolton. The Frenchman missed the seventh spot kick to hand Manchester United their third European Cup.

United edge out on sudden death penalties in Champions League final
In the first all-English European Cup final in 53 competitions, it was Edwin Van der Sar who was Manchester United's hero against their biggest Premier League rivals, Chelsea. In a pulsating game at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, which ended 1-1 after 120 minutes, penalties were the only way the two teams could be separated.

When Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar takes the field against Chelsea on Wednesday, he will become the fifth oldest player and second oldest goalkeeper to feature in the final of the Champions League, or formally the Champions Cup.

Keane desperate for Scholes success
