SFA turn down Premier League club's advances for McLeish
The Scottish Football Association have turned down an approach for Scottish Head Coach Alex McLeish, who is allegedly being coveted by Birmingham City. The Midlands club are looking for a man after erstwhile manager Steve Bruce was unveiled at Wigan yesterday, but the SFA wish to hang on to McLeish, having discussed the situation internally.

Christian Pannuci struck a last-gasp winner to kill off Scotland's dreams of qualifying for Euro 2008. Docherty hails McLeish influence
Alex McLeish has been hailed for transforming the Scottish national team from a bunch of no-hopers to a side on the brink of knocking the world champions out of the race for Euro 2008.
McLeish took over from Walter Smith in January and his side know that victory over Italy at Hampden Park on Saturday will ensure their place at Euro 2008.
