Gloucester suffer Qera injury blow
Gloucester's bid to improve on last season's Guinness Premiership semi-final spot has suffered a major blow after flanker Akapusi Qera was ruled out for six months after undergoing surgery to repair his damaged Anterior Cruciate Ligament. The Fijian was superb in his debut campaign in England and came third in the Player of the Season award.

England Saxons backrower Adam Balding has signed for Newcastle Falcons, having moved from Gloucester - a club he made 60 appearances for, over four years at Kingsholm. Back and Key leaves Leicester for Leeds Carnegie
Neil Back has pulled out of the race to become the new Head Coach at Leicester Tigers and has instead accepted the same position at Leeds Carnegie. The former England flanker was in the running to be appointed to the top job at Welford Road but has instead decided to continue his coaching career in National Division One.

Gloucester sign All Black Somerville
Gloucester have signed New Zealand prop Greg Somerville on a two-and-a-half-year contract, it has been announced. The Canterbury Crusaders star will move to the Guinness Premiership in December, and his signing is a major coup for the Kingsholm-based club.

Tigers confirm Flood signing
Guinness Premiership grand finalists Leicester Tigers have announced that England back Toby Flood will join them over the summer. The 22-year-old, currently on tour with his country in New Zealand and hoping to add to his 17 caps, will move from Newcastle Falcons after the trip.
