Wigan sell Granqvist to FC Groningen
Wigan have sold defender Andreas Granqvist to Ducth club FC Groningen for a fee of around £800,000. The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal after spending the end of last season on loan at his former club, Helsingborgs IF, and he was in the Sweden squad that was knocked out of Euro 2008 at the group stage.

Dutch FA insists the play-offs will go ahead as planned
The Dutch FA does not expect any problems with the scheduling of this season's play-offs for European qualification despite the fire that forced the postponement of last weekend's match between FC Groningen and Ajax at the Euroborg stadium last Sunday.

Glasgow is to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games after winning the decisive vote in Sri Lanka this afternoon. Glasgow fought off the challenge from Nigerian capital, Abuja, and clinched the vote in Colombo, after both parties pitched their presentation to delegates from all 71 Commonwealth countries.
