Heidfeld delighted with BMW decision
Nick Heidfeld has revealed his delight after being handed a contract extension by the BMW Sauber team. The German driver, who has yet to win a Grand Prix, will continue to partner Robert Kubica after securing his seat for the 2009 season.

BMW keep the faith
Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld will spearhead BMW's challenge once again next year after the German team confirmed their line-up for 2009.Kubica, who won his and the team's maiden Grand Prix at Canada earlier in the year, currently sits third in the championship race on 64 points with Heidfeld eight points further back.

Kubica hoping for improvements
Robert Kubica is hoping to put his recent problems behind him by claiming a place on the podium at this weekend's European Grand Prix. The BMW Sauber driver finished eighth last time out in Hungary and has failed to finish inside the top six in his past three races.

Johnson set to swap Heerenveen for MLS club
Young Canadian striker Will Johnson looks set to move from Dutch side sc Heerenveen to America's Major Soccer League. The 21-year-old, who was signed two years ago from Chicago Fire, was on loan at another Dutch side, De Graafschap, last season. He scored two goals in 25 appearances.

Nick Heidfeld is relishing the opportunity to race his BMW Sauber at Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix and has set his sights on a podium finish. The German driver, who came third in his home race at Hockenheim a fortnight ago, believes his team can challenge both the McLaren's and Ferrari's in Budapest this weekend.

BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld believes his team-mate, Robert Kubica, is not a threat to Lewis Hamilton's hopes of being crowned Formula One world champion this season. Kubica, 23, currently trails championship leader Felipe Massa by just two points, with Britain's Lewis Hamilton a further eight points and two places behind the Polish driver.

Kubica still smiling
Robert Kubica refused to be downbeat after being replaced at the drivers' championship following Felipe Massa's victory at the French Grand Prix. The Pole, who won his maiden race in Montreal last time out, could only muster a fifth place finish as Ferrari recorded a one-two finish at Magny-Cours.
