Holyfield wants to repeat Hollywood script

Evander Holyfield will attempt to recreate a Hollywood moment by defeating Sultan Ibragimov in Moscow. Should the 44-year-old beat his opponent, he will become the world champion for a record fifth time.

Holyfield faces the WBO heavyweight title-holder in a script similar to the Rocky IV film where Sylvester Stallone, who plays Rocky Balboa, fights Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren, in Russia.

It is a Hollywood story but one which the American hopes to repeat for real.

Holyfield said: "It's kind of interesting that a Hollywood story is what motivated me in the first place to make the 1984 Olympic boxing team and really started me on the path to all of this.

"It wasn't that I could believe in the whole story, the improbability of everything that happened. It's that 'no-pain, no-gain' attitude. You just have it in your own hands to do something for your place in life.

"Rocky was the guy who didn't look good, who didn't talk good. There was nothing pretty about the guy or the way he fought.

"He was just tough. He was mentally tough and never quit, no matter how many times he got hit, knocked down or people told him he couldn't do it."
