Stoner celebrates MotoGP title in style
MotoGP Champion Casey Stoner celebrated winning the title in the perfect manner by leading from first lap to last in his home race, the Australian GP. Stoner clinched the title in Japan three weeks ago but wanted to celebrate the achievement in front of his home fans, which he did in style with a dominant display.
And Ducati rider Hayden, who finished ahead of team-mate Loris Capirossi and Yamaha's Valentino Rossi, was delighted.
"To win today is maybe a better feeling than I had in Japan,'' a visbily moved Stoner said.
"That was a massive crowd. I've never seen anything like that. It was just mindboggling. Pretty much as far as the eye could see there were people.'
Hayden continued: "The race worked out perfectly for us. We got a great start and I led it from start to finish - the bike was working beautifully so it was just a matter of bringing it home."
