Hamilton and Dennis satisfied after qualifying
Lewis Hamilton was in a confident mood after sealing second place on the grid for Sunday's title decider in the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. Hamilton will start ahead of both his principal rivals, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso, after a superb qualifying performance left him behind only local hero Felipe Massa.
And McLaren star Hamilton was delighted with his performance: "I really enjoyed qualifying and it was a close to perfect lap," said the Briton, who will become the first rookie to win the title if he finishes in the top two in Brazil.
"We've got the pace, we're very confident and it should be a good race."
Hamilton continued: "I'm just buzzing really. I'm very relaxed and the car feels great and it's brilliant to see so many British flags in the crowd."
Hamilton's boss, McLaren team principal Ron Dennis, was also satisfied after the qualifying session.
"The guys did a good job," said Dennis. "We cut it fine but we're happy with qualifying.
"Our objective is to win the title with one of our drivers (Hamilton or Alonso), and we're just focussed on that.
"It's in Lewis' hands. He's just got a bit more work to do and we're hoping for a good clean fight for the championship."
