Benfica 1-0 Celtic
Celtic suffered a cruel late blow in Portugal as Oscar Cardozo scored three minutes from time to give Benfica a 1-0 victory over the Scottish champions in Group D of the Champions League. Gordon Strachan's side produced a superb backs-to-the-wall performance and looked as if they had earnt their point until they were undone at the last.
It has now been 15 games since the Bhoys last won away in the Champions League and they now lie bottom of their group, level with Benfica on three points, while AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk both have six.
But Celtic looked as if they would leave Lisbon with a point after goalkeeper Artur Boruc made a string of fine saves as his side looked to build on the superb win over AC Milan three weeks ago.
Cardozo had other ideas, however, and finished calmly when slipped through in the 87th minute.
Strachan's team are now likely to have to win both of their remaining home games, against Benfica and Shakhtar, if they are to advance to the last 16.
