Argentina's pain is United's gain
Manchester United have been handed a major boost with the news that Carlos Tevez will not be travelling to Argentina for his country's next three World Cup qualifiers after being ruled out through suspension. The striker was sent off during the 2-1 defeat by Colombia after tangling with defender Ruben mid-way through the first-half.
Tevez, whoarrived late to United's pre-season training after last summer's Copa America, will be forced to rest when Argentina take on Ecuador and Brazil in June, while he will also miss September's meeting with Paraguay.
The defeat was Argentina's first of the qualifying campaign as goals from Ruben Darios Bustos and Dairo Moreno cancelled out Lionel Messi's opening strike.
Elsewhere, last summer's Copa America hosts Venezuela came from behind on three separate occasions to beat Bolivia 5-3 in San Cristobal.
