Alves' tranfer to AZ held up
The transfer of Afonso Alves from sc Heerenveen to AZ has not been completed yet, according to AZ's technical manager Marcel Brands. Brands confirmed that loose ends had not been tied up in closed in an interview with AD Sportwereld, after Voetbal International had mistakenly revealed the deal had been completed without any problems.
"Several parties are involved in this deal, and we haven't been able to seal the deal yet", said Brands.
"If we had closed this deal by now, we would be coming out with the news, as we would be very happy", Brands continued.
"We will not be playing in the coming days, so there is no need to keep the Alves news to ourselves."
