Woods wins Dubai Desert Classic
Tiger Woods won the Dubai Desert Classic after producing a superb run of six birdies in the last nine holes. Woods beat German Martin Kaymer by a shot, while South African Ernie Els, who had started the final day four shots clear of Woods, fell away to finish a further shot back
Woods was in stunning form, and birdied the 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th holes before sinking magnificent putts on both of the final holes to put the pressure squarely on Els, who had three holes left to play.
But the South African was unable to compete as he found the water on the last hole to card a round of 71, giving Woods the title.
And Kaymer will also be pleased with his day's work as he finished his round in style, hitting birdie, birdie, eagle over the last three holes to build on his recent victory in Abu Dhabi.
But it was Woods' day, and the world number one produced a performance that backed up last week's claim that he is looking to win all four Majors this year.
