Ferguson told to forget Lyon double swoop

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has enquired about Hatem Ben Arfa and Karim Benzema - but insists that he would not exchange Ben Arfa for Cristiano Roanldo. Ferguson has been seen at recent Lyon games ahead of next week's Champions League meetings between the sides.

But Lyon have claimed that neither of their home-grown stars will leave the club until they have won the Champions League, with the six-times French champions dismissing talk of a £40m double-swoop.

"I told Sir Alex that Benzema and Ben Arfa will not leave in the next two years," Aulas is quoted in The Sun.

"We want to build our future on them. If he wants to exchange Cristiano Ronaldo for Ben Arfa we could talk about it, but they would have to also give us a bit of money."
