Spurs pair stunned by victory

Tottenham duo Paul Robinson and Jonathan Woodgate admitted they were stunned but delighted after Chelsea were beaten 2-1 in the Carling Cup Final at Wembley. Woodgate was the hero with an extra-time winner after Dimitar Berbatov had cancelled out Didier Drogba's first-half opener.

And the former Middlesbrough centre-back insisted the club had to push on as they won their first trophy under Spanish manager Juande Ramos, who has reinvigorated the side since taking charge in October.

"I can't believe it," explained Woodgate, who netted after Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech pushed Jermaine Jenas' free-kick back onto him and into the net.

"I don't generally go up for corners but I took a chance got my head on it and it went in!

"I think we were the best team; we were great and have to push on next year. They're a Champions league side, but we showed what Tottenham are all about today."

And goalkeeper Robinson, who was restored to the side by Ramos after almost ten games on the bench, was overjoyed to play in the club's first Cup Final victory since 1999.

"I've missed playing and to get the opportunity and the chance to play here is fantastic," he told Sky Sports.

"I was disappointed as it looked like I wouldn't get that chance and I'm absolutely delighted.

"Just look at these people in the crowd - this victory is for them."
