Drogba sets Carling Cup scoring record
Didier Drogba scored in his third League Cup final to become the first player to score in three different finals and also becoming the all-time top scorer in League Cup finals with four goals. Drogba had been one of six players who had scored goals in two different League Cup finals before today.
The others were Clive Clark, Jeff Astle, Ronnie Whelan, Alan Kennedy and Ian Rush.
Drogba's fourth League Cup final goal takes him past Clive Clark and Ronnie Whelan and he becomes the all-time top scorer in League Cup finals.
The Ivorian scored in Chelsea's 2005 victory over Liverpool, and netted both goals in Chelsea's 2-1 win over Arsenal in last year's Final.
