Coulthard hails Red Bull improvement
David Coulthard has hailed the improvement of his Red Bull car and says the team have made major improvements ahead of the 2008 season. Both Coulthard and team-mate Mark Webber expect Red Bull to become more competitive although neither driver is expecting to challenge the likes of McLaren or Ferrari just yet.
"I think we've made a big improvement," Coulthard told autosport.com. "But I think McLaren and Ferrari are at the front, and then there's a group of uncertainty with BMW, Williams, Renault and ourselves. A lot of guys are fighting over four places.
"The podium will be difficult if all the McLaren's and the Ferrari's finish, but I think there's definitely potential to make this car quicker. We've got an area that we know is weak and we just need to be able to design and build the parts."
Webber also believes his car's progress gives him a real chance of gaining points this season and says he is expecting a tight race in the Constructors' Championship.
"It's very tight between everybody," the Australian said. "We're on the back of the points at the moment I think.
"Between Williams, Renault and everybody it's very tight. Ferrari are on their own, then McLaren, then BMW, then the rest."
