Milan want Rossoneri legend Shevchenko
After losing to Arsenal in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday, AC Milan's president Silvio Berlusconi has again voiced his desire to buy Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko. The Ukranian is currently languishing in the Blues' reserves, with first team opportunities looking increasingly unlikely after Avram Grant signed Nicholas Anelka.
But Berlusconi, who watched his side downed 2-0 at the San Siro thanks to goals by Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor, knows his team's season is in need an injection of some kind if they are to glean anything from it, and has set his sights on the Rossoneri legend.
Before leaving for west London for £30m in the summer of 2006, the 31-year-old netted enough goals in his seven years at Milan to become the club's all-time second highest scorer.
And Belusconi, who has voiced his desires for the return of Shevchenko many times before, said: "I think regularly about Shevchenko and often speak to him.
"The fans would understand he would be the ideal choice for us. He's a player who is ready to help. I don't think [Chelsea owner] Roman Abramovich will have a problem in letting him go."
