McDowell slip gives Singh chance in Korea
Graeme McDowell's disastrous double-bogey on the final hole gave Jeev Milkha Singh a share of the lead at the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea. McDowell - the overnight leader - wildly overshot on the 18th and was forced to take a drop, before eventually finishing the round with a six-under par 66.
India's Singh responded in bullish fashion, carding an eight-under 64, including five consecutive birdies to fire himself to the top of the leaderboard alongside McDowell.
Paul McGinley sits in third with his second consecutive round of 67 and remains dangerous at just four shots off the pace while Sweden's Johan Edfors is just behind on 14-under.
Open champion Padraig Harrington clipped in on the final hole to record a four-under 68 and is tied with Australia's Kane Webber on 12 under for the tournament.
It was a disappointing time for KJ Choi as the world number five failed to mount a challenge infront of his home support and carded a round of 69.
McDowell, of Portrush, admits a twinge of disappointment at letting his lead slip:
"When Jeev made five birdies in a row I knew I had a fight on my hands," he said. : "Obviously it was disappointing to finish like that."
"It's a wakeup call but it doesn't change my outlook. I still have to do the business tomorrow. Jeev is going to be very hard to shake off."
