Diego going no where insists Werder Bremen chairman

Brazilian playmaker Diego will not be moving to the Premier League or to La Liga, according to the chairman of his club, Werder Bremen. The former Santos player moved to Portobut failed to bloom in his two years in Portugal. In Germany he has improved and is turning in performances that have caught the eye of Europe's top clubs' scouts.

The 23-year-old, who has already amassed 26 caps for Brazil, is being placed at the top of Chelsea and Real Madrid's 'most wanted' lists by journalists.

But Werder Bremen chairman Jurgen L Born insists Diego, contracted to Bremen until 2011, will only leave the Bundesliga club over his "dead body".

He said: "If somebody wants to buy Diego, he must murder me first. Diego will leave Werder only over my dead body.

"No one has rang me from Madrid - neither regarding Diego nor any other Werder players.

"Diego is not for sale. He has a contract with us until 2011 and is the most important player in our team."
