Porto accused of match fixing
Portuguese champions FC Porto have been accused of fixing two domestic matches in the 2003-04 season. Porto, who won the Champions League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho in the same season, have beenaccused of fixing the games against Estrela da Amadora and Beira Mar.
Porto could be relegated from the top flight if found guilty.
"We've been notified by the Portuguese league (LPFP) of the accusations and investigations," said a club statement.
Porto have five days to submit a written response to the allegations, while club president Jorge Pinto da Costa is set to go on trial in a civil lawsuit after being accused of bribing the referee in the game with Beira Mar.
Porto drew 0-0 in that particular game, while they triumphed 2-0 against Estrela da Amadora.
