United out to set new Champions League record

Manchester United will set a new Champions League record of 11 consecutive home wins if they beat Roma on Wednesday night. They currently share the record of 10 wins with Juventus.Furthermore, they are unbeaten in this competition for 13 matches, and remain one of only two sides unbeaten in this season's Champions League

The only other unbeaten side in the competition are Barcelona, who they could potentially meet in the semi-finals.

They last met Roma at Old Trafford in the quarter final 2nd leg last season - winning 7-1. This was Roma's heaviest ever European defeat and also the biggest ever winning margin in the Champions League knockout stages.

Roma's form against English sides in general is no better. They have visited England on 13 occasions and have won only once - they beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield in the UEFA Cup 4th round in 2001 but still went out on aggregate.
