Kuranyi fires Schalke to victory
Kevin Kuranyi scored a 22 minute hat-trick, the fastest in the league this season, to give Schalke a comprehensive 5-0 win over Energie Cottbus.The Germany international, who scored four goals on the night, is the first player to score four times in a Bundesliga match since Martin Petrov's efforts for Wolfsburg against Mainz in October 2004.
Kuranyi scored his first goal after 37 minutes before completing his hat-trick after 59.
The former Stuttgart man added his fourth with ten minutes of normal time remaining.
Kuranyi has now scored four hat-tricks in his Bundesliga career, joining Miroslav Klose as the active player with most Bundesliga hat-tricks.
