Vickey out for rest of season
England rugby captain Phil Vickery has been ruled out of rugby action for the rest of the current season and could miss out on the national tour to New Zealand, following a scan on his right knee, which he injured in Wasps' seventh straight Guinness Premiership win over Sale Sharks on Tuesday evening.
The 32-year-old prop sustained the injury in a ruck, when his leg was twisted under a challenge.
And now Vickery looks set to miss England's summer tour the New Zealand - the first Test is in Auckland on June 14.
Wasps say a full recovery is expected to take around eight weeks, which would sideline him until mid-June.
Vickery suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee.
Wasps have four Premiership games remaining against Saracens, Gloucester, Newcastle and Leeds Carnegie.
Wasps rugby director Ian McGeechan said: "Losing a player of Phil's calibre and experience is obviously a major blow, especially at this crucial time of the season.
"However, the busy schedule we've been faced with recently has demonstrated the strength that we have throughout the Wasps squad.
"With careful management, allied to the spirit and determination the players are showing, we are confident we can remain competitive for the remainder of the season."

This is terrible news. England has been a strong team for such a long time, but without Vickery I do worry that they will struggle. I am sure that at least having him on the bench will be a bit of an inspiration but nothing will make up for him not playing.
