Eriksson most successful City manager in first season
Sven-Goran Eriksson's position as Manchester City's manager is set to be evaluated by owner Thaksin Shinawatra at the end of the season. In comparison with the club's previous managers during their first Premier League seasons, Eriksson has the best record - winning more than 40 per cent of matches.
Equally, no City manager has ever finished higher than eighth in his first full Premier League season - the position City currently occupy.
Eriksson's record of 14 wins in his first 34 league games also matches that of his city neighbour Sir Alex Ferguson - Fergie won 14 of his first 34 league games when he took over at Manchester United in November 1986.
The only City manager with a better top flight record in his first full season in the last 30 years was Peter Reid who finished fifth in the First Division in 1991/92, winning 47.6 per cent of games.
Manchester City's best managers in their first full Premier League seasons:
Sven-Goran Eriksson (2007-08) P34W14, Win percentage = 41.2
Kevin Keegan (2002-03) P38 W15, Win percentage = 39.5
Stuart Pearce (2005-06) P38 W13, Win percentage = 34.2
Brian Horton (1994-95) P42 W12, Win percentage = 28.6

Heres hoping that they decide to hold on to Mr. Eriksson, as he obviously has been doing very well with the team compared to past Managers in a comparable length of time. Honestly, I feel he's one of the best things to happen to Manchester in quite some time.
