Arizona Diamondbacks thrash Padres

The Arizona Diamondbacks won their fourth straight MLB match on Saturday, winning 10-3 against the San Diego Padres to go to 13-4, the best record in the MLB at this early stage of the season.

A start of 13-4 is the best in the Diamondbacks' 11-year history in Major League Baseball.

The Diamondbacks have now scored double the runs of their opponents in their 17 matches this season, scoring 112 and conceding 56.

Arizona went ahead in the seventh inning and scored six runs in the eighth to complete the rout.

Arizona's second baseman Orlando Hudson said, "Our young guys are doing a heck of a job. They're swinging the bats well. Pitchers are throwing strikes and we're playing good defense behind the guys and right now things are going our way".

Arizona lead the National League standings from St. Louis (12-6), the Chicago Cubs (11-6) and Milwaukee (11-6).

In the American League, Boston (12-7) and the LA Angels (12-7) have the best records so far.
